Article introduction
This article analyzes BRICS foreign policy toward US unilateralism. Using a “soft balancing” approach and the variables of “power differential” and “economic interdependence,” it examines BRICS’s efforts to promote multilateralism and strengthen multipolarity in the international system.
The findings show that BRICS indirectly pursues a soft-balancing strategy against US unilateralism by enhancing its economic, political, and demographic capabilities and seeks to increase its influence within a multipolar global structure. Despite challenges and limitations, the group aims to consolidate its active and influential role in world politics.
