The Place of BRICS in the Foreign Policy of the Islamic Revolution Discourse in Iran: Challenges and Necessities

Article introduction
This article analyzes BRICS’s position within the foreign policy discourse of the Islamic Revolution in Iran. Using a descriptive–analytical and library-based method, it examines the role and necessities of Iran’s cooperation with BRICS states.
The findings show that increased diplomatic maneuverability for Iran, the rise of multilateralism, the need of emerging economic powers for energy and markets, and Iran’s unique geopolitical position at the crossroads of West Asia, the Caucasus, Central and South Asia, and Europe are among the key reasons why BRICS plays an important role in the foreign policy of the Islamic Revolution. The article stresses that Iran can, by leveraging BRICS’s capacities as an emerging international institution, move more effectively along the path from a unipolar to a multipolar political and economic order and strengthen domestic production and economic growth.
